About

"...anything and everything may disappear..." - Pierre Nora

Mnemosyne Projects is a curatorial platform and international cultural think tank dedicated to preserving authentic cultural sites and reactivating them through art, design, and creative programming. Working with partners worldwide, we research, protect, and reinterpret these sites of memory to keep them culturally relevant today. We collaborate with collectors, institutions, and cultural foundations to steward art and historical materials.

Founded in 2024 on the Greek island of Hydra, the project draws from the island’s singular artistic heritage. Each year, we develop a thematic inquiry that unfolds through exhibitions, conversations, site‑specific fieldwork, and new commissions by artists, writers, musicians, curators, and scholars whose practices explore the evolving relationship between place, identity, and collective memory. Through these initiatives, we transform cultural heritage into a living resource that connects global communities and supports sustainable cultural stewardship.

Mnemosyne Publishing, our independent publishing arm, extends this mission into print and edition‑based work. We produce books, art editions, interdisciplinary compilations, recordings, and films that gather the voices, images, and research emerging from our collaborations.

Our commitment to cultural diplomacy is reflected in our collaborations with international residency programs that invite writers, artists, and scholars to develop new work in dialogue with historical landmarks. These residencies foster meaningful exchanges between local communities and global creative practice, offering participants the time and context to create work shaped by the environment.

Mnemosyne Projects bridge tradition and innovation, ensuring that significant cultural sites and the stories they hold continue to inspire new ways of seeing, creating, and understanding the world.
